The second nature-habit
Human nature refers to those nearly permanent qualities that are biologically based, what are apart from society and environment. we may be by nature—apart from society has taught us--selfish, aggressive, or promiscuous .If we are selfish by nature for example, society must work hard to make us unselfish, and if controls are loosened up a bit, we might very well return to that purely selfish state. Similarly, if habits are defined as a kind of nature of human-beings, it is alwayseffective in all life time, which are meaning to anyoneas offspring their past. From the writer perspectives, habits have threefold significance, namely: the meaning of simple objective matter of fact, the meaning of a rule, of a norm which the man sets up for himself, an expression for a thing willed, or a will.
To some extent, personality is a complex of customs,which usually became formulations in early-thirty-years life, changing hardly. We as social individual are sharpened by our surroundings including regulations, cultural institution and conducts of behavior. And the world has provided many norms for us before being born. Or we are always the puppet of conditions and the everyday-life world is formed by various performances after thinking, self-accounting, and compromising and other subjective world’s reflections. No matter how complicated that is, it exists that it is a process to have a stable personality or habits. Youare recognizing the new world via our parents’ words, expressions, their embrace and so on when infancy. As we were learning smiling, walking,talking,parents didn’t disappear.When go to school, we study the manners of social intercourses with peer, the way of getting knowledge , the approach to expressing our feelings ,sentiments and ideas and so on. When go into career life and get marry, our settings will be different, with varying effectsaround us. These causes spelling the influences for personalityare accidental but constant. For instance, you fell down on the groundsalt water pouring on your face when a baby, and then your parents, your grand-parents and the other relatives would quickly go your place and pull up you fromground and console you and give you other “benefits”. And that you got more comfortable as you repeated your above behaviors is becoming a habit that the difficulties will be surmounted using the conduct of makingsobbing loudly or depending on another person. Then one of your customs down and you performance will follow thestereotype.
We must see that beings humans depend on society building series of habits to conduct our future or life; we develop certain human qualities only because we are born into a society and are socialized and we are intimately connected with our past or the customs. Either individuals ororganization desiring to make a difference should control by will or system, and do not go straight along the old roads. It is society, not biology that crates customs, so, that is distinctive with genetic aspects. In other words, the customs are often associated with the correlations between the outsides objective world and the inner subjective world and therefore could be “the second nature”.
