古诗英译 Ode to the Willow



Purest emerald is thy overall color of shade, Thousands of twigs droop like fringes of jade; By whose hands thy slim leaves are made? The February breeze is like a scissors’ blade.



The Willow

Emerald fashioned into a tall tree

Hung with myriad silk braids of green. Who tailored the dainty leaves? The snipping wind of early spring



Chant For Willow

The gorgeous tree is like dressed with the jade, Since thousands of branches, droop green braid. Knowing not the slim leaves who does cleave, By tailor— March wind has sharp,scissor blade.

The slender tree is dressed in emerald all about, A thousand branches droop like fringes made of jade. But do you know by whom these slim leaves are cut out? The wind of early spring is sharp as scissor blade
