Spring, the sweet Spring, is the year's pleasant king; Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring, Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing, Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! 春，甘美之春，一年之中的尧舜， 处处都有花树，都有女儿环舞， 微寒但觉清和，佳禽争着唱歌， 啁啁，啾啾，哥哥，割麦、插一禾！

The palm and may make country houses gay, Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day, And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay, Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! 榆柳呀山楂，打扮着田舍人家， 羊羔嬉游，牧笛儿整日在吹奏， 百鸟总在和鸣，一片悠扬声韵， 啁啁，啾啾，哥哥，割麦、插一禾！

The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet, Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit, In every street these tunes our ears do greet, Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! Spring! the sweet Spring!

郊原荡漾香风，雏菊吻人脚踵， 情侣作对成双，老妪坐晒阳光， 走向任何通衢，都有歌声悦耳， 啁啁，啾啾，哥哥，割麦、插一禾！ 春！甘美之春！

本诗的韵式是 aaab,cccb,dddb;每节中除末行外，其他三行都用腹韵，即第二音步的第二个词同第五音步末尾的词协韵。
