The Monkey and the Tiger 猴子和老虎
Characters: Monkey, Tiger, Narrator. Scene1 In the forest
场景1树林里,一只大老虎耀武扬威的欺负小动物。小动物们惊恐地逃跑。
Narrator:Once there lived a tiger in the forest. He was very fierce and greedy. Every day he would ask one of the animals to bring him something to eat. All the animals hated the tiger. They hoped to kill the tiger one day.
There also lived a monkey. He was the cleverest animal in the forest.
旁白：从前，森林里住着一只老虎，他特别凶猛，特别贪心。他要求森林里的动物每天给他送吃的东西，所以动物们都对他恨之入骨恨，都希望有一天能将老虎杀死。 这里还住着一只猴子，他是森林里最聪明的动物。
Tiger: (老虎上台) I am very hungry. Who will bring me good thing to eat? Oh, it's the monkey's turn. Look! He is coming.
老虎：我太饿了。今天该谁给我送吃的了？哦，该猴子了。看！他来了。
Monkey:Good morning, Mr. Tiger!
猴子：早晨好，老虎先生。
Tiger: I am very hungry now. What gift do you bring me today?
老虎：我现在特别饿，今天给我带什么来了？
Monkey:Nothing.
猴子：什么也没带。
Tiger:What did you say? Nothing! Go to the village and bring me a fat pig.
老虎：你说什么？什么也没带！到村庄里给我带头肥猪来。
Monkey:(哭着说) Oh, Mr. Tiger, I am afraid I can’t do that.
猴子：噢，老虎先生,我害怕，我不敢这样做。
Tiger: Why? Aren’t you afraid to lose your head if you don’t give me food?
老虎：为什么？不给我吃的，你不怕掉了你的脑袋。
Monkey:Yesterday another tiger that looks younger and stronger than you arrived. He asked me not to bring you anything. He spoke in such an angry voice. (厉声厉色地说)
“Don’t send food to that tiger! ” I was afraid and ran away.
猴子：昨天来了一只比你年轻、强壮的老虎。他要求我不给你送东西吃。他这样说：别给那只老虎送吃的。我很害怕地跑掉了。
Tiger:（大喊着）What? Nonsense! I am the only king in the forest. I will teach that tiger a lesson!
老虎：什么？胡说八道！我是森林里的大王。我来教训那只老虎！
Monkey:Come with me. I know where he lives.
猴子：跟我来，我知道他住哪里。
Narrator: The tiger and the monkey came to a river.
旁白：老虎和猴子来到了河旁。
Tiger:Monkey, where is the tiger? Is this a joke?
老虎：哪里有老虎？你在愚弄我？
Monkey: Come here.（走到河边）Now, look into the river.
猴子：来这儿，看河里边。
Tiger:(伸着脖子往河里看)
Monkey: Do you see him? Here is his head, his white teeth, and his large green eyes.
猴子：你看见了吗？那只老虎的头、白牙、绿色的眼睛。
Tiger:（老虎怒不可遏地喊道）Who are you? 老虎：你是谁？
Shadow tiger:(只传出声音)I am the number 1 tiger here!The great king of the forest! I am stronger than you. Can you defeat me?
老虎影子：我是最棒的老虎，是这个森林里的大王。我比你可强壮，你能赢得了我吗？
Tiger: Nonsense! I’ll kill you. (老虎说着扑向了河里自己的影子)Ah…
老虎：胡说八道！我要杀掉你。啊——!
Narrator:Fromthen on, the animals in the forest saw him no more. They were singing and dancing to celebrate their big victory.
旁白：从那以后，动物们再也没有见到那只老虎。他们唱啊、跳啊，庆祝这个大胜利。
