1. 情态动词could 可以；应该；可能 could+ 动词原形 could 是can
的过去式，在英语中既可以表示过去的能力，也可以表示谨慎 客气的建议，其否定形式 couldn’t
Eg:You could write him a letter. 你可以给他写信 Could I use your bike? 2.write v. 写 write sb a letter = write a letter to sb 给某人写信 Eg：I’m writing my friend a letter.= I’m writing a letter to my friend.我在给我的朋友写一封信。
3. Maybe you should call him up. 也许你应当给他打电话。 call sb up= ring sb up= call sb 给某人打电话
Eg：Please call(ring)me up when you get there. 当你到那时请给我打电话。 4.You should give him a ticket to a ball game.你可以给他一张球赛的票。 Give sb sth = give sth to sb 把某物给某人（给某人某物） Please give an apple to your sister. = Please give your sister an apple. 5. I don’t want to surprise him.
Surprise v. 使惊奇；使诧异；使感到意外adj. surprising surprised Eg; You surprise me.你下了我一跳。 ① be surprised 感到吃惊（惊奇）
Eg: We are very surprised at the news. 听到这个消息，我们非常吃惊。 ② in surprise 惊奇地
Eg; He looked at her mother in surprise. 他惊奇地看着他母亲。 ③ to one’s surprise 使\令某人吃惊的是 Eg; To my surprise the door was unlocked(未上锁).
6. have an argument with sb. =argue with sb 和某人争吵 Eg: I had an argument with my best friend.
