My Most Admired Scientist—Tu Youyou

I most admire the scientist Tu Youyou. She is a Chinese pharmaceutical chemist and educationist.

In 2015, Tu Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her groundbreaking discovery of artemisinin, an antimalarial drug made from traditional Chinese herbs. Tu Youyou faced numerous obstacles while researching a cure for malaria. Her research was rejected many times, yet she continued to persevere. After years of hard work, Tu Youyou eventually achieved success.

Tu Youyou is an inspiration to us all. She demonstrates that success can be achieved through dedication and hard work. She is a role model for us, showing that our dreams and aspirations can be realised one step at a time.

Lastly, Tu Youyou serves as a reminder that we should never give up, even in the face of adversity. Though she faced countless obstacles, Tu Youyou was able to push through and make a significant impact on the world.
