小学英语《Weather》主题活动设计方案

一、概述
本主题为《开心学英语(三年级起点)》第三册(四年级)教材 “Culture”部分《Weather》中关于认识和介绍天气的内容。现把该主题应用于小学二年级跨越式实验班中作为一项主题活动进行开展。主题探究的内容源自教材又在教材的基础上进行了拓展,围绕着“Weather(天气)”这个主题,从 “天气预报”“比较不同地方的天气”“调查人们关于中山天气的看法”三个方面分别设计了小组探究活动。
本主题的探究学习,教师事先设计好三个活动,学生分成四人小组,通过自主学习、协作学习、收集资料,然后进行制作手工画、进行问卷调查等活动。力求在深刻掌握课本知识的同时培养学生学习英语的兴趣,提高学生的信息素养,自主学习及与他人合作协作的能力。 二、学习目标分析 (一)知识与技能
1. 了解天气的各种类型,如:typhoon, lightning, storm, thunder, rainy, cloudy,
sunny„„ 2. 了解世界各地(要有气候的代表性)的气候特征 3. 学习询问和回答天气情况的语句,并能用英语做天气报告
4. 了解中山的人们(教师、朋友、家人)在不同的季节里喜欢穿什么类型的衣服 (二)过程与方法
1. 通过查阅关于天气的资源, 学习询问和回答天气情况的语句。初步学会根据收集到
的资源,通过整理、自主学习、合作探究得出汇报结果。 2. 通过小组协作探究,培养问题解决的能力,自主学习能力和协作学习能力,同时提
高信息素养。 3. 通过演讲和作品展览,表达自己对某一类天气的看法(喜欢或不喜欢,为什么?)
以及对理想的天气进行描绘。 4. 通过引导学生用英语询问身边的人喜欢哪一类型的天气和在不同季节喜欢穿什么
衣服,培养学生用英语进行交流的能力,培养良好的英语习惯。 (三)情感、态度与价值观
1. 通过专题的一系列活动,让学生学会感受天气的变化,学会关心别人(如:天冷时
提醒身边的人加衣服)。 2. 通过小组活动,培养团结协助的精神。
三、学习者特征分析
该主题探究的学习者为广东省中山市实验小学二年级跨越式实验班的学生。该班是非网络班,但是学校已经开设了信息技术课,每周至少有1次可以上公用机房。大部分学生已经掌握了上网、搜索、下载等操作。已有部分学生学会了制作PowerPoint。
这是本班学生第一次尝试开展专题活动,学生已经掌握了几个用 “what”提问的句型: What’s your name? My name’s „„ What’s this? It’s a „„What color is it? It’s „„What are these? They are „„How many„„ are there? There are„„. Where are you from? I’m from „„另外,据调查,大部分学生有看天气预报的习惯,对于本专题的开展打下基础。 四、教学策略
课堂讲授策略:通过课堂的常规教学让学生掌握有关天气的英语单词和句子。
自主学习策略:教师让学生通过借阅英语杂志、报纸、书籍、网络等搜索关于天气的名称、种类、询问天气的句子。让学生利用课余时间用英语访问身边的老师、朋友各喜欢什么类型的天气以及在不同的季节喜欢穿什么衣服等。
协作学习策略:教师让学生小组合作进行天气预报、调查访问等。 评价激趣和调控策略:教师事先围绕天气的主题设计三个并列的活动,学生根据各自的爱好分成小组协作进行探究,当然教师在这过程中要做好指导、协调和管理工作,各个小组在组内进行英语演讲竞赛,最后,每个小组推选出一位最优秀的同学参加班的公开竞赛。汇报时由教师和学生根据评价量表对参赛的同学表现进行评价。 (五)学习任务分析
任务1:天气预报(通过记录电视天气预报的信息,学习天气预报的方法,小组合作预报某一个地方一周的天气状况)
任务2:比较不同地方的天气(学习天气的表达方法,通过查阅资料之后绘制不同地方的图画,并在展示窗进行展示)
任务3:调查人们关于中山天气的看法(调查身边的人对不同天气的喜好,用英语汇报调查的结果) (六)学习资源
为本单元学习而设计的课件《weather》。
英语报刊、杂志、书籍、画册、录音磁带、光盘。 电视中的天气预报。 关于天气的图片。
(七)实施过程
本主题共有三个活动。但在所有的活动开展之前,需要集体学习关于天气的常用的词汇、句型、表达方法等等。在掌握了基本的知识之后再分头开展活动。 天气预报

(八)活动评价
本研究专题针对每一个子专题的活动分别设计了不同程度的评价量表。以评分的形式(优秀:5分;中等:3分;合格:1分),先让学生对自己的表现进行自评,再由老师进行他评,既体现学生自主性,又能体现活动的客观性。首先,在“天气预报”中,教师从学生搜集天气符号的数量、记录天气预报情况、能否用英语交流、作品完成是否符合要求等方面进行评价;在“比较不同地方的天气”中,从学生是否能认真听,读资源、手工画的完成情况、评价同学是否合理等方面进行评价;在“调查人们关于中山天气的看法”中,从学生能否用英语进行交流、调查报告是否清晰,全面、交流过程是否有礼貌等进行评价。 “天气预报”评价量表

若学校具有网络条件,在本案例开展的过程中,可以做以下几个方面的调整: 1. 教师提供网站模板和资源网址,让学生以小组为单位,在收集资料的基础上自己动手尝
试制作一个如“天气百宝箱”之类的网站,提高学生的信息技术水平。 2. 搜索英语资源的途径可以更广泛一些,互联网上有丰富的关于天气预报,各地天气情况
的多媒体材料,教师可以提供网址,供学生搜索、整理。
3. 可以将“集体听读”教师准备的资源改为学生自主听读,培养学生自主学习的习惯和能
力。
