We all know the dangers of fires. It’s good and necessary for a family to learn how to prepare for a fire. Here are some suggestions.

Put a smoke alarm in the house. Smoke from a fire causes the alarm to go off. The alarm makes a loud sound. The sound tells everyone to leave the house at once.

Make escape plans. We should know all the ways out of the house. If there is a fire, everyone follows the plan to get out. Part of the plan is to check all the windows to make sure they can be opened easily.

Buy fire extinguishers(灭火器) in the house. Everyone in the family should know how to use them.

Practise for a fire. We do fire practice because we teach children about fire safety. Everyone in the family should know the following fire rules:

★Don’t open a hot door! The fire can grow more quickly if you open the door. Stay close to the floor! Smoke can be more dangerous than fire. The best air is near the floor because smoke rises.

★What will you do if your hair or clothes start to burn? First, stop! Don’t run! The fire burns faster because of more air. Drop! Fall to the floor. Then roll! Turning over and over will make the fire go out. Put a blanket around you to keep air away from the fire that may still be on you.

There are many possible causes for fires. A wise family is ready all the time. If there is a fire, don’t forget to call 119 for help.

How is it that some people manage to get up at 5:30 am to exercise? We have picked some lifestyle changes you can make to help you become the person who wants to get out of bed as planned.

•Eat right the night before.

The foods you eat in the evening will affect how you feel when you go to the gym."If you ate meat and bread at 9 o'clock last night, chances are that you're going to wake up feeling tired and lazy, " says Noah Neiman, a trainer at Barry's Bootcamp. Eat vegetables and healthy fats so you wake up feeling dynamic, not tired or lazy. "Just be sure to finish up at least 90 minutes before you go to bed, " says Leslie Bonci, founder of Active Eating Advice. "This gives your stomach some time to digest the food so it's not working while you're trying to take a sleep."

•Make yourself go to bed earlier.

It'll be easier to get out of bed in the morning if you've slept 7 to 8 hours. What does that mean exactly? "The body has an internal circadian rhythm(内部循环规律). If you do not disrupt(扰乱)it, it will make waking up in the morning much easier, " explains Joe Holder, a coach. Limit mobile phone, computer and TV use before bedtime so the blue light that these devices give off doesn't affect your sleep.

•Have a workout friend.

Ask aroundyou probably have a friend who either already gets up in the morning to work out or wants to start doing it. Make plans to meet him at the gym or a class. It'll be less difficult for you to get up when you know someone is waiting for you.

When International aid is given, steps must be taken to ensure(确保) that the aid reaches the people for whom it is intended. The way to achieve this may not be simple. It is very difficult for a nation to give help directly to people in another nation. The United Nations Organization (UNO) could undertake(承担) to direct the distribution of aid. Perhaps the UNO could set up a body of devoted men and women in every country who can speedily distribute (分配) aid to victims of floods and earthquakes.

More than the help that one nation can give to another during a disaster, it would be more effective to give other forms of help during normal times. A common proverb says, “Give me a fish and I eat for a day; teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime. If we follow this wise saying, it would be right to teach people from less developed nations to take care of themselves. For example, a country could share its technology with another. This could be in simple areas like agriculture or in more complex areas like medical and health care or even in building satellites. Even a small country is able to help less developed nations. Sometimes what is taken for granted, like the setting up of a water purification plant() or the administration (管理) of a school, could be useful for countries which are about to solve common problems. It does not cost much to share such simple things. Exchange students could be attached for a number of months or years and learn the required craft while on the site. They can then take their knowledge back to their homelands and if necessary come back from time to time to clear doubts or to update themselves. Such aid will be truly helpful and there is no chance of it being temporary(短暂) or of it falling into the wrong hands.

Many countries run extensive courses in all sorts of skills. It will not cost much to include deserving foreigners in these courses. Besides giving effective help to the countries concerned, there is also the build-up of friendships to consider. Giving direct help by giving materials may be effective in the short run and they must continue to be given in the event of emergencies. However, in the long run what is really effective would be the sharing of knowledge.

28.According to the author, how could international aid reach the victims in time?

A. By solving the cost problems.

B. By setting up a body of devoted people in ever country. C. By solving the transportation problems.

D. By relying on the direct distribution of the UNO.

29. What does the author try to express in the underlined sentence?

A. Providing food is vital(至关重要的). B. Learning to fish is helpful. C. Teaching skills is important. D. Looking after others is important. 30. Which aid is likely to fall into the wrong hands?

A. A medical team. B. An exchange program.
