Teaching objectives

1. Students can understand the meaning of the dialogue.

2. Students can read the dialogue with correct phonetics and intonation.

3. Students can identify the sentences “How many…… do you see”and “How many…… do you have” Teaching key points and difficulties

1. Students can use “How many …… do you have” to ask and use the sentence “I have ……..” to answer. 2. Students can identify the sentences “How many…… do you see”and “How many…… do you have” Teaching aids Some pictures and tape. Teaching procedures 1. Revision

Students read words in Unit 6. 2. Lead-in

The teacher shows some stationery on the desk, let students say what they can see and teacher gives some evaluation. 3. Presentation

(1) The teacher shows other stationary on the desk and asks how many rulers (pens) do you see.

(2) Then the teacher takes out rulers and asks students “How many rulers do you have” to instruct the new sentence.

(3) Students look at pictures on the screen and guess What are they talking out How many crayons does Wu Yifan have

(4) Then students listen to the tape and check their answers.

(5) Students open their books, turn to page 61 to look through the dialogue and find which sentence they haven’t learnt.

(6) The teacher writes the sentence “Open it and see!” , let students look at pictures on the screen and instruct them to guess its meaning.

(7) Students listen to the tape and read after the tape. 4. Practice

(1) Students read the dialogue by themselves.


(2) Boys acts as Wu Yifa and girls read Amy to read the dialogue.

(3) The teacher acts as Wu Yifa and all the students act as Amy to read the dialogue. (4) The teacher acts as Amy and all the students act as Wu Yifa to read the dialogue. (5) Students two a group to act this dialogue out.

(6) Students make a new dialogue according to the sentences pattern on the screen, then find some of them to act out. Homework

1. Students act out this dialogue with their partners after the class.

2. Students count how many kinds of stationery do you have and choose two of them to ask and answer with your partner. (How many …… do you have I have……) Blackboard design
