LESSON PLAN 1
Background Information:
Students: 40 junior school studnets, Grade 1. Lesson duration:45 min. Teaching Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, studnets should be able to : 1. Say in English the names of jobs,
2. Ask and answer questions about one’s job,
3. Use interview strategies to find out information and take note. 4. Present the interview result confidently to other students;
5. Leran to be a good listener and brave to ask questions in English. Teaching Contents:
Vocabulary of jobs, What does your father/mother ...do? He’s a policeman. Teaching Aids: tapes, blackboard, chalk, PPT, picture, white papers. Type of the lesson: vocabulary, speaking. Teaching Procedures: Step 1. Review (10 mins)
a) Warming up: a song: “What do you do?” (with flash)
b) Students write the names of jobs they already know on paper. c) Studetns draw pictures of jobs, and share them in groups. d) Students volunteer to present their pictures and words. e) Teacher summarizes, and writes the words on board. Step 2. Learn the new words (15 mins)
a) Use pictures and actions to introduce the words. Use the structure: what does he/she do? He/She is a ...
b) Students learn to say the words with the help of pictures.
c) Pair-work. One does actions, the other guesses the names of the jobs. Step 3.A task: Use what is learned to do an interview (10 mins)
a) Group-work. An interview.

b)Volunteers to present the result. Step 4. More practice (10 mins)
a) Play a guessing game. Work in groups of four. One studnet writes the name of a job on a piece of a paper, and the others guess by asking question. Teachers demonstrate first.
b) Use PPT to show some celebrities and ask students to name their jobs. Such as Yang Liwei, Beckham, Zhang Ziyi... and some ordinary people of different jobs. Optional activities and homework:
Optional activity: Work in pairs and find out your parents’ IDEAL job. And ask your partner to explain why.

LESSON PLAN TWO
AIMS: a) To have the class learn key structures by heart.
b) To have them practise the dialogue with substitutions. c) To introduce some role play
NEW VOCABULARY: How’re things?(formal)=How are you? a bike ride = an excursion on bicucles. a picnic = a meal in the open air.
NEW STRUCTURE: How about -ing...? Function: making suggestion ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE: Declinling: I don’t feel like -ing. Countering:I’d rather + basic verb.
PROCEDURE
WARM-UP: Game (3 mins), Going on a picnic: You bring a/the/some ...!

STAGE 1, PRESENTATION (approx. 10 mins)
a) New vocabulary: (three new lexical items above) b) New structure (flash cards)
c) First model, spoken (BB drawing of speakers).
STAGE 2, PRACTICS (approx. 15 mins)
a) Repetition drill (backward build-ups) b) Cued substitution, chorus work
c) Public pairs: cued acceptance/refucal and counter suggestions (flashcards) d) Ditto. Books closed e) Public check.
STAGE 3, PRODUCTION (to end of lesson, 17 mins)
a) Pubilc pairs, new suggestions
b) Private pair role play; new suggestion, counter suggestions, agreeing weekend activities. c) Acting out. Volunteer pairs. d) Write out created dialogues.
HOMEWORK: Complete writing of dialogues.
