New things
With the development of society, more and more new things have appeared in people’s daily life. When people are faced with transformation of ways of life and production caused by new things, there comes such kind of nostalgia wind. There is a crowd of people criticizing new things of replacing the old customs, reforming the traditonal life, changing the national culture and utimatedly causing the loss of people’s cultural identity.
As far as I’m concerned, every medal has two sides, so are the new things. Internet is known as the greatest invention of 20th century. We work with it, checking and releasing information; we communicate with it, through email, on-line phone, or MSN; we entertain with it, playing games, watching movies, and enjoying music; we study with it, searching and exchanging learning materials; virtually, we can’t live without it. Internet brings us a lot of conveniece. However, it also provides a highway for vicious information, causing a surge of network crimes. But how could you criticize the network’s bad influence and boycott it while enjoying the convenience it brings to you? This is a kind of self-contradiction. And this, gossiping with your distant friends , and at the same time, taking telephone as a reason for not visiting them like always, is also a common contradicion in daily life.
Every thing appears with both postive and negative effects. Although new things have replaced traditional things, changed people’s old ways, and brought some negative effects, we can’t reject the function of new things in our life and production, and not to say denying their apprearance.
In some respects, new things itself can’t impact on our normal life. It is how human use them that can bring the influence to human life. Whereby, we should pay our attention to the progress of using new things, try to utilize the part which profits to human and avoid the bad effects, so that we can use the new things in a better way. All of these, I think, are related to human themselves, rather than the new things.
People’s need summons the appearance of new things, because of that, “new things” has its own specific value to be in our life. Whether “new things” will profit human depends on how peoplr use them. And since we chose the convenience of new things, we should also be well-prepared for the negative influences of them at the same time.
