Learn to bow temporarily

Nowadays, many people have dreams of success. They are wise and brave, and they are complacent for success. But just like George Bernard Shaws saying, There are two tragedies in life. One is despair, and the other is smug. When they are in a dilemma or face embarrassing situation, many of them will suffer a heavy blow. However, the story of Morse will inspire us by telling us something special about success. In the fall of 1832,on the ship which was crossing the Atlantic Ocean, American doctor Jackson was telling the principle of electromagnet to the passengers . One of the passengers, Samuel Finley Breese Morse , who was deeply attracted. It came to him that he could use the principle of electromagnet to invent a machine which could transmit information very fast and very far.

Morse was born in a priests family in 1791. He graduated from Yale University in 1810. Instead of following the wishes of his parents, he went to England to study art. As an artist, he won a good fame when he returned to America, but it didnt make him rich.

After Morse finished his voyage, he immediately set out to work. After all, he just was an artist, in this new field, he needed to learn much knowledge. Unfortunately, Morse had ran out of money quickly, he had ran himself ragged but his work was bogging down.

He heard that his student Fair who was very rich, so he explained his situation to Fair, hopping to borrow 5,000 dollars from Fairs family. Although Fairs father thought Morse was a cheater, in order to respect his sons decision, the old Fair lent 5,000 dollars to Morse. But until Morse ran out of the money, he didnt succeed. He decided to borrow 5,000 dollars again. The old Fair was very angry, he put the 5,000 dollars

on the table, saying loudly, As long as you admit that you are a cheater, you can take the money and neednt to return any!

Morse was so embarrassed that he wanted to run away in no time, but without the money, he couldnt do anything. After a while, he said, Im a cheater. and took the money, leaving without a word.

For his research, Morse still needed much money. Although everyone treated him like a cheater, he tried to borrow money as much as possible from who he was familiar with, no matter how embarrassed he felt. In 1836, he even had to resume business to earn his living. However, he never gave up his research.

May 24, 1844 was a day remembered by the world. In the Washington State Capitol Federal Supreme Meeting Room, the first telegram was dispatched, saying, God created what a miracle! Just like a miracle, Morse invented the telegraph successfully. He paid off all the debts immediately, especially the debt of the old Fair. Certainly, at that time, the old Fair felt very embarrassed.

When I read the story of Morse, I immediately realize that he is really

a wise man. It seems amazing that Morse said,Im a cheater . When he was in the desperate situation, If he had refused the old Fair, he might been able to save some face. But it couldnt bring anything to his research. Therefore, he chose to bow temporarily to others, and more than once.

Great minds think alike. Morse did it, so did Han Xin and Goujian. The way to success is not easy. Sometimes what you need is more than wisdom and courage, you just need to bow temporarily to the fact. Just like when you face a small door, the best way to pass it is putting your head down. And you should keep it in mind that concession doesnt mean

you are not strong, but means standing better and more stable. If you want to be a great man, why not choose to behave like a great man?
