Once upon a time, there was a hare who boasted about his speed. He claimed that he could run faster than anyone else in the forest. One day, he saw a tortoise moving slowly through the woods. The hare laughed at the tortoise and mocked him for his slow pace.

The tortoise overheard the hare's taunts and challenged him to a race. The hare accepted the challenge, thinking that he could easily win the race. They agreed on a route, and the race began.

At first, the hare raced ahead of the tortoise and soon found himself so far in front that he decided to take a nap. He felt confident that he could wake up and still win the race easily. Meanwhile, the tortoise plodded along steadily, never stopping or resting.

When the hare woke up, he realized that he had overslept. He rushed to the finish line, but it was too late—the tortoise had already won the race. The hare was humiliated and embarrassed. He learned the hard way that boasting and arrogance can lead to failure.

From that day on, the hare treated the tortoise with respect and never again boasted about his speed. The tortoise, on the other hand, was proud of his perseverance and slow-but-steady approach. He taught the hare an important lesson that sometimes, slow and steady wins the race.
