Step 1 Lead-in Enjoy the following story :

Long long ago, there was a hill; on the hill stood a temple; in the temple lived an old monk,

the old monk was telling stories to a little monk.

What stories was he telling?

Definition of full inversion and partial inversion 英语倒装句分为两种：

１、整个谓语 放在主语之前的句子，叫完全倒装。（不借助任何词）There is a table in the room.

２、部分谓语（情态动词、助动词、连系动词）放在主语之前，谓语的主体部分仍在主语之后的句子，叫部分倒装。 Why did you do it like that?

倒装的原因，一是语法结构的需要（如某些疑问句），一是强调。

一、完全倒装(Full inversion)

1. 在以here、there、now、then等副词开头的句子里。谓语常是be, exist, live, lie，stand, come，go, follow, enter, rush, occur等不及物动词。此结构通常只用于一般现在时 和一般过去时。 【注意】Here you are. Here it is. Here they are.

【疑难剖析】当主语 是人称代词(I,he,she,it,we,they,you)时，主谓语序不变。

2. 在以out、in、up、down、away、off、back等副词开头 欣赏，总结用法3：

一只小狗坐在房间外。 Outside the room sits a little dog. 3.表示地点的介词短语提前位于句首时，全部倒装 完全倒装句解题思路：通过句首词或词组判断出用完全倒装时，排除选项中主语为代词的或借助助动词的；语序结构为：谓语+主语(谓语的单复数与主语保持一致)。 部分倒装（Partial inversion）
