Vocational education or college education ?

The number of people who take the college entrance examination has been

decreasing these years. Some people consider vocational education an advantage to job-hunting, while others argue that a college diploma is more important.

ln my opinion, college education is more advisable or most people. [4lFirst, college education is systematic and students can learn a lot in many aspects. Unlike vocational, which always focuses on just one job skill, college education enables students to develop different po-tentials.15lSecond, to obtain a higher degree, such as a master’s degree, one has to go through college education to a bachelor’s degree first.

In a society where any job skill may become outdated quickly with the appearance of new technologies, the limitations of vocational education prove even more serious. Only college education can prepare us for future challenges.

numbers have participated in (参加)the test for national civil servants. Millions of students are full of enthusiasm about (热衷于)working as a civil servant.

The following reasons can account for this kind of craze. Above all, One of the

traditional notions in China is that(中国的传统观念之一是)the more stable the work is，the happier the will be. (工作越稳定，生活越幸福). Civil servant, as one of the most stable professions in today’s China, becomes their preferable (更合意的)choice. Moreover, in recent years, the salary and welfare(收入和福利)of civil servants also ranks high (排名靠前) among various professions, which undoubtedly (毫无疑问地)attracts many graduates. Besides, the high social status of civil servants is also a factor that can’t be neglected (不容忽视的).

The craze for civil servant is a phenomenon that requires objective recognition.

Graduates should not regard being a civil servant as their only choice, It is difficult to say which is the better trade(行业). one can become the master of his trade provided he is diligent and tries hard(只要肯努力，行业无贵贱，行行出状元). Moreover, If most of high quality talents gather in the government departments，it will be a waste of talents and resources and it will exert a negative impact on the (产生消极影响) long-term development of a nation

Studying Abroad: Hardships and Rewards


There is no denying the fact that studying abroad is a hotly debated topic today. Obviously, studying abroad has a number of rewards/advantages. In the first place, a student can have access to advanced science and technology as well as desirable working conditions which might not be available at home. In the second place, he can be exposed to entirely new ideas and trends. Last but not least, by living and studying in a foreign country, one can improve his foreign language much faster than at home.

Nevertheless, as every coin has two sides, studying abroad also confronts one with a series of hardships. For one thing, learning a foreign language is far from an easy thing at the beginning for most people. For another, a completely new environment with different customs and habits may also be a barrier to overseas students, especially to the young. An added difficulty lies with finance: it can cost a lot to study abroad.

From my point of view, the advantages of studying abroad outweigh its disadvantages. But it is a big decision to go abroad to study and one should take into consideration his financial conditions and his ability to adapt to new surrounding. Personally, I choose to go abroad and study if I find it necessary.
