Well, talking about the natural landscapes of China, you probably want to going to the Jiangnan or Li river of Guilin. I can tell you that after our today’s visiting, you can enjoy the both beauty of Jiangnan and Guilin. Because the Bingyu Vally, what we are going to today is thknown as the "northern Jiangnan” and the "Little Guilin in southern Liaoning".
Bingyu Vally has many scenic spots. Because of the limited time and energy, We just visit the Cloudy Water Ferry and Fairy Ferry today.
Bingyu Vally is located in the north of Zhuanghe City, 160 kilometers away from Dalian. It covers an area of 500,000 square kilometers. Natural landscapes and the mountains are its’ features. In 2001, it was listed as one of the first AAAA(4As) tourist attractions of China, and was certified to ISO9002—2000. It is a popular scenic spot in Dalian city, even in Liaoning Province.
Bing, in Chinese it means ice and cold; Yu, means Vally. At first, the name is not these two Chinese characters. Its original meaning is that the Soldiers defensed this place. These two names have similar pronunciation in Chinese. In Tang dynasty, there is a general Xue, he was sent to Bingyu Vally by the emperor to resist
the enemy. It is a perfect military location. If somesoldiers guard the pass, no enemy can get through here. Because of its mild climate, a lot of people will come to Bingyu Vally to spend their summer. Here it has well-preserved ecosystem and plenty of wildlife. It also has the largest native natural pine oak forest ecosystem in the world. It’s kind resemble to Yosemite National Park in American. The experts say Bingyu Vally is the largest and most qualified quartzitic scenic spot in China. And now it’s a national geological park.
Well, we are here at the Cloudy Water Ferry. We need to take the boat, so just be careful, especially for kids. I believe everyone just want to take the great memory back to home, right?
On the left, is Lover Island. This beautiful place attracts a lot of couples. They plant willows on the island as a memory of love. Chinese people like to take advantage of the similar pronunciation. The willows’ branches are connected closely, just like the lovers hug each other. So the couples wish they will alike the willows be together forever. If we have some couples want to get some souvenir or fortune of our Bingyu Vally, it’s a good choice to plant some willows later.
On the right, there are three separate peaks, named three stars surrounding the moon. Each peak has a god to take care—the god of sky, the god of land, and the god of rain. The god of sky makes favorable climatic weather. The god of land produces good harvests. And the god of rain moisturizes all lives. You can image that while
