Set in the summer of 1998, "Youth of You" tells the story of a high school student on the brink of adulthood. Niya (Tong Naiwen) is an independent yet naive girl who falls in love with a rebellious classmate named Rao Sanmu (Wang
Yanlin). After a series of misunderstandings, Niya's parents forbid her to see him again and things take a turn for the worse when Sanmu's mother dies in a suspicious bike accident. As Niya continues to struggle with her feelings for Sanmu, she is forced to confront the harsh realities of growing up, emotions and life itself.
The film stars Tong Naiwen and Wang Yanlin as Niya and Sanmu respectively, alongside Han Xin, Shen Shengnan, and Tu Guangyang. It also features guest appearances by Wu Jing, Yuan Wenkang, and Sun Honglei. The movie was written and directed by Derek Tsang, who also directed the critically acclaimed 2018 movie "Soul Mate". The soundtrack for the film was composed by Sandee Chan, who has previously scored hits such as "Liao Zhai 2", "Love O2O", and "My Way".
