How to bridge the generation gap
A lot of parents are worried these days. In their eyes, their ever-growing children no longer obediently obey them. Conflicts arise and the tension between them and their children runs deep. On the side of children, things are no different. Parents, in their opinion, always point fingers, always seem to have lots to say over everything they do.
But, there are always ways to bridge the generation gap, and it can be done on two fronts, as each side of the conflict must leant to live with the other.
For parents, they must first and foremost recognize from the bottom of their hearts that children are independent human beings, who will have their own judgement. In this light, parents should try to appreciate their children and refrain from pointing fingers.
For children, if they can find by themselves that parents life wisdom is indeed helpful to their own well-being, they will listen. As a result, it is parents’ responsibility to help children come to be aware of the fact.
If both sides can stay cool and stand in each other’s shoes, everything will surely turn out to be alright in the end.(wenkookoo)
