1：Consumer satisfaction continues to grow in China

The latest comprehensive score for consumer satisfaction in 100 cities across China continued to show a steady upward trend for the fourth year, breaking through the 80-point mark for the first time, according to the China Consumers Association on Sunday.

Data from the association showed that the comprehensive score for consumer satisfaction stood at 80.59 points last year, picking up 1.27 points from 2020.

The association has carried out consumer satisfaction assessments since 2017. The 100 evaluated cities include municipalities, provincial capital cities, and cities with higher total retail sales.

The survey adopted on-the-spot interviews. And a third-party agency conducted the evaluation in the 100 cities from October to December 2021, with a total of 60,424 valid samples collected. Suzhou, Hangzhou and Qingdao are the top three cities in the overall score for consumer satisfaction, and 37 cities scored higher than the average level.

Among the three first-level indicators, "consumption supply" logged 81.93 points, the highest; "consumption environment" followed with 80.52 points; "consumption rights protection" scored 80.05 points, at the bottom, but the result shows the most improvement from previous years.

3：Sushi favorite launches set meal for spring

Founded in 2004, Japanese restaurant chain Sushi Yotsuba recently launched a set meal in all its Beijing and Shenzhen branches to celebrate the brand being named in the 2021 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide.

The set meal is created by six renowned chefs at Sushi Yotsuba, who aim to find fresh seasonal ingredients to make a feast for their diners.

The appetizer, a combination of seven snacks, provides a taste of spring and includes Sakura shrimp, spring bamboo shoots and ham rolls with eggplant filling.

The three types of sushi, which include wagyu beef with black truffle, tuna sashimi and grapefruit with caviar, are must-tries, as the ingredients for each are perfectly paired.

5：ITO Japanese Cuisine offers new dining experience

Recently relocated to Beijing's Parkview Green Shopping Center, ITO Japanese Cuisine is welcoming diners with authentic Japanese flavors and a brand new environment.

The decor of the restaurant combines past and present and connects the outdoor space with indoor dining areas.

An updated menu has been launched along with the new location. Each of the appetizers is fresh and colorful in both presentation and flavor. The nonaka goose liver is a signature dish, as the liver is slowly cooked at low temperature before being smoked. The berry adds a sour flavor to the dish and the sea urchin makes the dish more flavorful.

6：Chinese netizens get creative with traditional dessert

With the Lantern Festival - it falls on Feb 15 this year - just round the corner, many Chinese have been posting their artistic interpretations of tangyuan, a dessert traditionally consumed during the holiday, on social media.

Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon, the popular official mascots of the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, have even become sources of inspiration for several netizens.

For example, Xinmeier de Manshenghuo, a user on social lifestyle platform Xiaohongshu, received 17,000 likes and hundreds of comments for her post that documented her process of making Bing Dwen Dwen tangyuan, a glutinous rice ball in the shape of the panda mascot.

The user also posted pictures of tangyuan in the shape of Shuey Rhon Rhon, a red lantern, which also drew thousands of likes.

Chinese netizens have also been making tangyuan resembling popular cartoon characters such as LinaBell, a pink fox from Disney's Duffy & Friends storyline, and tigers, as 2022 marks the Chinese Year of the Tiger.
