How has the Internet changed our life?

Good morning, everyone! Today I will say something about the Internet and our life.

First, I want to ask you some questions. Have you ever been to make new friends online? Have you ever been to buy clothes online? Have you ever been to search for information you need online? Have you ever been to watch movies or even listen to music online? Have you ever been to play online games, such as LOL? Maybe most of you do those. If your answer is “No”, you can try to do them.

As you can see, Internet has been affecting every aspect of our lives, and our life cannot go on without Internet. However, how has Internet changed our life?

Great changes have taken place in the communication, and Internet has done wonders to reduce the communication barriers. In the past, people used letters to convey information, and it always took several weeks to send a letter to destination. But now we only spend a few seconds sending an e-mail. We also use QQ to communicate with others. When our friends are online, we can see their faces and talk with them through QQlive. In addition, more and more people begin to use micro-blog. They can use their cell phones to share the latest news with others. Another APP popular in cell phones is WeChat, and people who don’t know each other can use it to be friends.

Another good feature is the amount of information available on the Internet. Just type in Baidu or Google what you are looking for and click “search” and a great deal of information would appear before your eyes. So instead of spending hours in the library looking for the information we need, we tend to use Internet to search the information, for most of the information in the library can be found on the Internet. Internet helps people to save lots of time, and they are inclined to use Internet.

If you like shopping online, you must still remember November 11th this year. During that day, many people paid much attention to tabao website, because all the goods in that website were sold at half price. Nowadays we don’t need buy the goods at supermarkets or stores, because we can buy everything we want on the Internet. In some shopping websites, you just need to register an account and open the online bank service, so you can buy goods in those websites. Shopping online is not only very convenient, but also it saves time and effort.

The first function of Internet in the aspect of entertainment is watching movies and TV serials. Instead of waiting the TV program every night, you might as well watch it on the Internet. We could also watch certain entertainment show programs. Reading on Internet is also available. After working a day, that we choose to read something is a good way to relax ourselves and we can acquire knowledge at the same time. Internet can be also used for playing games and listening to music.

The functions above are those that we use very often. When we are enjoying the benefits bringing by Internet, some bad effects are undermining our lives. Internet makes a few of us suffer a sort of addictions. In another aspect, someone takes advantage of Internet to spread unhealthy knowledge. It’s really very bad for us. In a word, Internet has both advantages and disadvantages. We should utilize it properly and view it as a tool of promoting our own development.
