巧记lie 和lay lie的第一个意思是说谎，它的过去式和过去分词是规则变化的，加d，lied、lied 。如： He always lied to his father last summer holiday. 去年暑假他总是向爸爸撒谎。

各样的，更有甚者180度大变换，所以躺是不规则的。也就是说“位于、躺”这两个意思过去式和过去分词是不规则变化的：lie、 lay 、lain。可以用这一句口诀记忆：不规则位于、躺。
lay不仅是lie的过去式，它又是下蛋、放的原形。我们再用一句口诀来记忆：躺过去下蛋。这句的意思是躺的过去式下蛋的原型。例如：
The hen lays an egg in the basket.母鸡在篮子里下了蛋。
lay做原型时是“下蛋；放”的意思，而且它的过去式和过去分词也是不规则变化，最后一句口诀随之出现：下蛋放一起，就是说他们的过去式和过去分词一起变化，一样的：lay、laid、laid。例如： The hen laid an egg yesterday and I laid it into the basket
昨天鸡下了一个蛋，我把它放到篮子里。
四句口诀：规则的去说谎，不规则位于、躺，躺过去下蛋，下蛋放一起。
你认为谁没有说出真相。
句中 tell the truth 是“说出真相”，其中truth 是名词，true是形容词，副词是truly。 e.g. He didn’t tell the truth. 他没有说出真相。
