Elephants are the world's largest land animal. They have thick skin but little hair. Elephants live in many countries in Africa and south Asia. Their trunk is very useful for picking up food and drinking. They can use it for breathing, smelling and make sounds too. Elephants are smart animals. They can learn to do many things that people teach them. Elephants are herbivores,they eat plants like grass. They also love to swim in water and play. Elephants have lived on earth for many years and they are of great importance in many cultures.
