Robinson Crusoe





Robinson Crusoe This novel described a image of a Morden west bourgeois. Who have great courage strong will self-confidence and optimistic spirit.



Robinson Crusoe was written by Daniel Defoe and is a full-length novel. The writer wrote this book was inspired by a true adventure story. In September 1704 a Scottish sailor quarrel with his captain and was banished in a uninhabited island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. And he lived in this island for four years until he was rescued by a pass by ship. And writer use this story as the blue print created this novel and added his own emotion also experience. With writer’s imagination this book protagonist becomes a hero between the small capitalists. And also the first idealized Emerging Assets image.

1:Adventuring Spirit

The book’s main character Robinson，he lived in the island for 28 years. His experience in the island was amazing and miraculous but still remain realistic. There were many new features on him represent The British new capitalist class. Robinson is a man who keep on adventuring and challenge himself though he owned a oversea plantation and lived a carefree life. He refused the life his family arranged to him .He went for sail many times only want to live a different life. And finally caused him lived in the island alone for 28 years. This adventuring spirit was the typical western spirit. If we look through the western history there are many similar action especially during the industrial revolution. This spirit also helped Robinson when he lived in the island. The life in the isolated island is dangerous. The reason why is that you don’t know what you will meet in the next second. This kind of spirit helped Robinson overcome many difficulties and turned dangerous into safe. Also this spirit formed his special personality charm.

2:Personal Wisdom

Robinson lived in a isolated island where doesn’t have ready-made necessaries. Everything he need to support his life required to craft by himself. With the wisdom he managed to carried material from the broken ship to the island. He built a shelter and craft some furniture such as


chair and desk. What’s more he managed plant some crops and tamed some goats. By means of these he gradually had the sable food resource. In the island he fight against the nature and escaped from dangerous again and again. Spending a lot of time reform the environment. And in the end his wisdom also helped him a lot to escaped from this island

3:Optimism

Living in this kind of desert island one of the big problem is not have enough food but living alone. In this kind of environment one can not communicate with others. The long time loneliness can consume people’s will and with all kinds of disaster even a strong man can be easily destroyed. But Robinson successfully survived by his optimistic and positive attitude. He enjoyed living by himself. And there are many describe in the book about his optimism. Such as he created a calendar and he keep a diary. In his diary we can see he encouraged himself not to give up. This kind of optimistic and persist become a power to help him to overcome many difficult and let his inner more and more strong. With time passes he more and more get used to live in the island he create what he need and encourage himself. This spirit guide him passes many lonely day and eve.

4:Appreciate Heart

Robinson never complain though he trapped in the island. Instead he thank to the god and thank this island saved his life. He still appreciate the island gave him resource although the things he need mostly craft by himself. And this is the key reason he lived in the island without low spirits always thank everything. After he escaped he still like to come back to offer some material to the habitant on the island to improve them life quality. Always be appreciate make Robinson live eaiser and have more courage.



Analysis About The British Realistic Literature In The Book



1:The Book’s Focus

At the beginning The British Realistic Literature mainly reflex and reveal the society’s conflict and contradiction. That’s because in the British Realistic Literature writers most of them were in the lower social stratum. They can touch the true situation and even experienced these miserable circumstances everyday. So the have the sympathy to the lower class. For example the book Oliver Twist. This book’s background is set in London tell an orphan’s miserable life experience. There were many society contradiction reveled in the book like Child labor problem. To express writer’s hate to the society. However with the book Robinson appear The British Realistic Literature’s content changed a lot. At that time Britain became a word power on which ‘the sun never set’ with a short time through the industrial revolution. The British’s ambition also rise up with the country’s power. They want to be the counquer of the sea to be the pionner of the colonization to own more and more land and gold. From this book we can tell The British Realistic Literature show’s the characteristic of the Marine civilization. The writer no longer only


revel the society’s darkness. They began to describe the hero’s adventure to the world. The book Robinson although described a story about a man trapped in the island in the end turned in to the society. But during the protagonist life it shows the colonial expansion. Because the island are with nothing in the very beginning. There doesn’t have enough tools and stable food. However with the effort of the Robinson the island became a place are suitable for people to live a good life on it, it’s have crops and all kinds tools. This kinds situation meets the Britain expend ideas. Especially the relationship between Robinson and Friday. Their relationship represent the advanced civil and backward civil.

2:Writing Method

Robinson this character though is fictional but is according to the real people and real event. And this kind writing method increase the reliability of the book and make it more vivid. However there are many experienced been added in the book according to the writer’s real experience. All of these makes book reads more real. Also the write of the environment and climate changing let reader have a connect with the real word makes them feel personally on the scene.

Robinson Crusoe as a representative of The British Realistic Literature there are many important content. According to this book we can see the expansion of the Britain and The British Realistic Literature’s change. More importantly Robinson this character’s good spirit inspired many readers. So whatever in the British Realistic Literature or social influence this book is come first on the list.
