Starting from 1710，a public land，the New Hope area has a famous history. It began as a trading post. 21．（6分）
By the 1940s，New Hope's name in the arts had become legendary for many writers of plays，directors and actors who traveled through its busy streets on weekends and holidays.
In response to this cultural environment，businessman and writer D．F. Whipple decided to set up the New Hope film festival in 2009. Whipple gathered a group of artists who shared his love for discovering and encouraging independent filmmakers，many of whom will show their films at its exhibitions.
The festival's directors welcome you to our site and we hope you’ll join us at the exhibitions.

Advance ticket sales end at midnight before each show. If you miss it，you can still try to get tickets at，the door. Ticket prices at the door are $12 for visitors，$10 for students and seniors（65+）and $6 for matinees（午后场）. To find shows，check out the schedule in our Official Guide.
