Hello, everyone! My name is Guo. Today, I want to show my persistence with two short stories。

As a child, I was overweight. The happiest moment every day were when I ate, while the saddest moment every day were when I helped my parents. I didn’t want to do any housework because I were too fat. But when I was in high school, I fell in love with an endearing girl. She fascinated me so much that she made me feel inferior. Finally, I made up my mind to loose weight. As we all know, losing weight can be a painful and lengthy process and few people can stick with it. Nevertheless I made it. At that time, I gave up my favorite coke and favorite Fried chicken and ate boiled vegetables every night. At that time, I felt extremely miserable. Many times I wanted to give up and not suffer. But when I thought about her face, I felt that I should stick with it. At last, I lost 30 kilos, and this lovely girl had become my girlfriend.

There’s another little story. When I was in middle school, my English was very poor. I can't understand what the teacher said every time I had English the class. Therefore, I could merely get more than 20 marks for each English test. But by luck, I got into a good high school. Of course, I still couldn’t keep up with my teacher in English. At first, I thought there was nothing wrong with poor English. All the way through my senior year, it gave me a sense of urgency. I started memorizing 50 words a day. But the process was painful because my English foundation was so poor. A lot of times I wanted to give up because it’s too hard to memorize these words for me. However, my classmate who sits next to me had been telling me to stick to it and never give up. He said that the camel walked slowly, but eventually it could reach its destination. This sentence had a profound effect on me. After that, no matter how tired I was every day, I insisted on memorizing English words and special training. Finally, everything comes to him who waits. Through one year’s persistence, my English has made a qualitative leap. At the college entrance examination, I got 112 in English. This persistence has given me great confidence and courage.

All I want to say from these two stories is that perseverance can struggle in the storm of fate. If we persist, if we enrich our common sense, we will eventually discover its mystery.
