Software Design and Computer System Support in Civil Aviation Maintenance At present, there is increasingly fierce competition among aviation industry, where safety and efficiency are the necessary condition for the survival of the airline. Nowadays, the design and manufacture of aircraft has entered the modern level with the high reliability, because the safety problems caused by the design defects of the aircraft are less. Accordingly, the aviation safety problems caused by the civil aviation maintenance, production and management become more obvious, at the same time, the maintenance cost, as the main cost of the aviation operation, affects the efficiency and development of airlines. Therefore, the airline wants to survive and become outstanding, it is not only to ensure the aircraft’s safety and reliability, but also to reduce maintenance costs as much as possible, in order to seek faster and better development. Civil aviation maintenance management has gone through a period of development, but the development of the software program management plan and the computer information system support still have a lot of mining space.
Most of the domestic airlines’ fleet scale arein rapid development, but the control and maintenance management experience is very insufficient, especially in the software and computer system support. So the production plan is inefficient and the annual maintenance card can achieve hundreds of thousands of copies. In addition, the maintenance card’s staggered and leakage row often occurred, excessive maintenance and unsafe maintenance time affect the aviation safety. Different airlines have adopted various methods of maintenance production management and control, but the operation mode and the basic management methods are still relatively rough, which might contain economic and safe troubles.
From my point of view, scientific and reasonable maintenance management and reasonable software support will be a strong ensure for the aircraft and improve the production efficiency at the same time. A good software and computer information system can improve the precision rate of the production, check and maintenance; reduce the use of manpower and resources, as well as to balance the costs and maintenance time. However, according to the studies of Chinese scholars, such as Lin Guangyang, PengYuzhe and Lin Ping, the present domestic airlines are lack of a
reasonable and modern management mode and operating way. In PengYuzhe’s paper “Research on the Management of Modern Civil Aviation Maintenance and Production Planning”, he suggested that there should be a better management program for the maintenance for the civil aviation industry. Meanwhile, this topic already has been taken into consideration in western countries. They pay much attention to the information computer system support and the use of software in civil aviation industry.
