The Present Continuous Tense

Teaching Aims:

2. Learn to how to use The Present Continuous Tense correctly.

How to use the Present Continuous Tense correctly.

Teaching difficult point:

How to change verb to present participle.

Teaching procedures.

Step 1: Revision

Greetings

T: Class begins.

Ss: Good morning, Miss Xiong! T: Good morning, class! Ss: Thank you. T: Sit down, please.

Say ”What are you doing? ”

(talk about this topic with students.)

Step 2: Lead-in

Sing a song： Are you sleeping? Then show some pictures.

Look at these pictures and answer the question”What is he doing?”

Step 3: Language Focus

Pay attention to the sentences, and say how to use the Present Continuous Tense. 定义：现在进行时态表示现在（说话瞬间）正在进行或发生的动作。

eg: The students are listening to the teacher. He is watching TV now.

Point out the form of the Present Continuous Tense be (am/ is/ are)+doing

1. 肯定句结构: 主语+be +v-ing+其它.

2. 否定句结构：直接在be后加 not. 主语+be not +v-ing+其它. 3. 一般疑问句结构及回答: 问句,直接把be提前,

Be +主语+v-ing+其它?

肯定回答: Yes,主语 +be. 否定回答: No,主语+be+not 4. 特殊疑问句结构：疑问词+ be + 主语 + doing? 5. How to change verbs’ V-ing: 1）一般加 ing .

如: play----playing watch----watching 2) 以不发音的e 结尾,去e 加ing.

如: take----taking make---making

3) 元+辅结尾, 且是重读闭音节的单词,双写辅音字母+ing. 如: run----running swim----swimming stop---stopping sit--- sitting

begin---beginning shop---shopping 4) 特殊变化：

以ie结尾的动词,变ie为y,再加ing. 如：die---dying lie---lying tie---tying

6. 口诀教你学doing

• 进行时很好记, be加动词ing, 直加双写去哑e。

• 分词构成需仔细, 别说be无词义, 主语和它最亲密； • 变疑问be提前，否定not在后添；

• 何时要用进行时，look，listen，now标志。

现在进行时：

1.表示现在正在进行或发生的动作。

2.当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作。构成：be (am, is, are) +v-ing

常与现在进行时态连用的词: now， listen, look, these days, at the moment等。

运用现在进行时写一篇作文——My family
