【延伸】set的过去式和过去分词均为set,现在分词是setting。 【辨析】build, set up与found
(1)build意为“建立;建造;建设;营造”,常指建造具体的房屋。如: build a house建造一座房子
(2)set up意为“开办;创立”,常接表示组织、机构、团体等意义的词,与found基本同义。如: My father is going to set up a company. 我父亲打算开办一家公司。

【点拨】该句中的in order to意为“为了……”,引导目的状语,可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。如: In order to hear more clearly, we moved to the front row. 为了听得更清楚,我们挪到了前排。
【延伸】“in order to/so as to+动词原形”和“to+动词原形”都可以引导目的状语。为了表示强调,可将(in order) to do放在句首,而so as to do一般不放在句首。表示否定目的时用in order not to do或so as not to do,意为“为了不做……”。如:

3. Pandas born in zoos may go back to live in the nature parks. 出生在动物园里的熊猫也可能回到自然公园里生活。
【点拨】born in zoos意为“出生在动物园里的”,born是过去分词作后置定语,修饰前面的名词pandas。在英语中,过去分词短语修饰名词要位于其后,表示被动含义。如: ①Jackie Chan is an actor born in Hong Kong. 成龙是一位出生在香港的演员。
②Emails sent by the Internet will reach the other side of the earth in no time. 通过互联网发送的邮件会瞬间到达地球的另一端。 4. there be...doing与there be...to do
【点拨】there be...doing意为“有某人或某物正在做某事”;而there be...to do意为“有某人或某物要做某事”。there be句型中,用现在分词作定语表示伴随的动作正在发生;用动词不定式作定语表示动作不是正在进行。如:
There are a lot of visitors waiting there. There will be several buses to take them around the factory.
有很多游客正等在那儿。有几辆公共汽车将带他们去参观工厂。
