Suggestions for 《A Viewing、Listening、Speaking course of
Military English》
Viewing、Listening、Speaking course of Military English is a very practical course because it provides an platform of using English for students. It can help most learners improve the ability to manipulate the English. At the end of two years of learning English, learning English once again is so hard that we can’t catch up with the rhythm of the class. The study of college English focused on the ability of listening and it is based on the premise of a rich vocabulary. However, our vocabulary is poor.
At present, I present my suggestion according to my own experience of learning this course.
1.Focus on English-based practice，especially enriching students’ vocabulary. For example, Professor can organize students watch movies with purely alphabetical subtitles. Undergraduate students can guess the meaning of words according to the story.
2. Improve teaching methods, according to the actual situation in the class to arrange groups to discuss、learn or submit homework.
3. Hold various forms activities in order to improve students’ enthusiasm. For example, I—speak English club has hold a simulation of United Nations activities，everyone take part in the activity on behalf of one state.
