Happy Lantern Festival!

The Lantern Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the first

month in the Chinese lunar calendar. It marks the end of the Lunar New Year season. The name 'Lantern Festival' comes from one of the traditional activities, which is to light up lanterns!

This festival is full of traditions, such as eating tangyuan (rice

balls), watching and releasing lanterns, chanting lantern riddles and playing with sky lanterns. People also perform lion dances and dragon dances, and children are able to participate in fun activities like guessing lantern riddles.
