Similar to the importance of the Christmas Day for the westerners， the Spring Festival is the most important celebration for Chinese people. Although the meaning and the methods of celebration of the Spring Festival are changing with the time， the important status of the Spring Festival is inparable.

Chinese Spring Festival has a long history， which is nearly four thousand years old. Initially， the festival had no name or fixed date However， people called Spring Festival “the age” aording to the revolution period of Jupiter by B.C. 2100. Before B.C. 1000， people used “the year”， which means “Great Harvest” representing the Spring Festival.

Aording to the traditional custom， the Spring Festival lasts from the 23rd day of 12th lunar month to the 15th day of 1st lunar month， and the climax should be the New Year Eve and the first day of first lunar month.

May first is a Sunday. And it is the Labor’s Day. My mother said to me :“Open your eyes！And look out of the window. What a fine day! Let’s go to park,” So my mother, my classmate and I went to the park. We took some foods in my schoolbag. On the way to the park. I saw the blue sky


with snow-white clouds. I saw pear trees and some apple trees and so on. Below the trees, there are several kinds of flowers. It’s colorful, blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, orange and white. I saw some balloons and butterflies in the sky. I ate popcorn, cornflakes, banana and lollipop. They were wonderful.

In the afternoon, we went to the zoo. I visited the birds, mice, cats, dogs, budgies, hamsters, rabbits and so on.

May Day is my favorite day！

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China .It’s to celebrate the lunar calendar ‘s new year .In the evening before the Spring Festival ,families get together and have a big meal .In many places people like to set off firecrackers .Dumplings are the most traditional food .Children like the festival very much ,because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes .They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck . People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune . The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long .People visit relatives and friends with the words “Have all your wishes ”. People enjoy the Spring Festival ,during this time they can have a good rest .
