设计试验，考察同一个天气过程的模拟效果对模式各部分不同设定条件的敏感性，比如不同的积云对流方案、不同的云物理方案、以及不同的初始或边界条件等等，有效地训练了学生理论知识的实际应用和团队合作能力；课程讲解各部分附以Matlab图形动画演示，对学生理解复杂的数值预报概念和方法有很大帮助。

This course covers continuous equations, basic waves and wave filtering, numerical discretization, physical parameterization, data assimilation, atmosphere predictability and ensemble forecasting. A real-data mesoscale modeling project was conducted as group works with all groups examining one same case that happens

英文简介

during the semester from different aspects of numerical model, such as sensitivities to different cumulus schemes, microphysics schemes, initial and boundary conditions etc. This model running project helps students connect their knowledge in theory and practice. Besides, most lectures are aided by live demonstration of MATLAB toy program, which helps students picture the complex concepts and methods of numerical modeling.
