【Beautiful mind 1】

A wonderful Christmas Two years ago , I moved a new town with my boys . Things were going well . I found a

job and the boys went to the Boys & Girls after school , I would pick them up after work .

In December , the manager of the Boys and Girls Club called me and said that a group of

people wanted to do something for our family as Christmas was coming .He told me they had

a lot of used furniture .

A week later , they called me and asked me what the boys wanted for Christmas . I told

them what the boys wanted for Christmas . I told them what their favorite toys were .They

showed up for the first time on December 18 . They brought a sofa , kitchen furniture , a bed

for me , and other furniture .They also gave us a Christmas tree and decorations .I thanked

them a lot .

On December 24 ,after the kids were in bed , they stopped by and put gift into the

stockings for the kids . I could tell how wonderful the Christmas was .

This year I am planning to do something for a family, too .I am hoping that we can give

someone the joy. I hope everyone can share the spirit of love during the holiday season , and

Three homeless men

Yesterday I went downtown . On my way to the train station , the traffic was too heavy .

When I looked out of my window , I saw a handsome young man walk out of the side door of

the Opera House . It was cold and windy outside . He had on a heavy jacket and a scarf

around his neck .

He was walking towards the bridge . There were three homeless men with their cups .

The young man went to the first beggar and took out some money . He said a few words to the

first homeless man and put the money in his cup. Then the young man started walking and

saw the second homeless beggar. He stopped and gave a candy bar to the second man .The

young man moved on and saw the third homeless man .The third man was shivering . The

young man took off his scarf and put it around the beggar’s neck in a very loving way and

with a huge smile he walked away .

I was moved by the young man .He gave his money, food and scarf to the homeless

men .He gave these from his heart . There were tears in my eyes . I would never forget the

beautiful moment and I will try to help others in the future .

Love in the lunch bag It was Molly’s job to hand her father his brown paper lunch bag each morning before he

headed off to work . One morning , besides his usual lunch bag , Molly handed him a second

paper bag .

At midday ,Molly’s father opened the bag . There were three small stones , a plastic

dinosaur , a toy bear ,two tiny seashells , a small doll , and 13 pennies .He smiled and put all

the junk into the wastebasket .

That evening ,Molly ran to him as he read the paper . “Where’s my bag ?”“What bag ?”

“You know , the one I gave you this morning ”“I left it in the office . Why ?”“I forgot to put

this note in it ,”she said .“And besides , those are my things in the bag ,Daddy. I really like

them ----I thought you might like to play with them , but now I want them back .You didn’t

lose the bag , did you , Daddy ?”“Oh, no ,”he said , lying . “I just forgot to bring it home .

I’ll bring it home . I’ll bring it home tomorrow .”

When Molly hugged her father’s neck ,he opened the note .It read , “I love you ,Daddy .”

Molly gave him her treasures . Love was in that paper bag , but he lost it ---he not only lost

it ,but he threw it in the wastebasket .So he went back to the office. He carefully picked up the

treasures from the wastebasket and carried them home . These things didn’t look so good ,but

the love they stood for was what really mattered .

Learn kindness from my father

When I was 12 years old , I went with my dad to his work. I was walking around and I

saw a poor woman with a baby in his arms standing outside the office . I saw that she was

crying a lot and I went inside and told my father .My father went out and asked the woman to

come into the office .He gave her some water and then asked her what was wrong .

The woman said she didn’t have anyone else in her family to help her .She was sick for

the last three days and was unable to go to work .She didn’t have any food to eat .My father

and I were moved by her story. We got some food for her and her baby to eat .My father then

took them to the nearest hospital because her baby did not seem to be very well. On the

way ,we bought her a bag of food from the market .My father gave her some money before we

left her .The lady was so grateful .

8 years has passed , but that event is still in my mind .My father’s kindness to that

woman encouraged me and since then , I have decided to try to help others like my father.
