一． 副词的作用

1. 作状语，修饰_________, __________ ,_________ 或____________. The professor worked hard all his life. She is very diligent.

You speak English quite smoothly.

Fortunately , his step-mother was kind to him . 2. 作表语，一般是表示地点及位置的副词。 Miss Green wasn’t in yesterday. They are downstairs.

3. 副词作定语，定语通常后置。 The person there is waiting for you.

4. 表示位置的副词常和动词构成短语。如: put down , pick up , 二． 副词的分类

本册书主要学习时间副词：immediately , one day , just now 地点副词：abroad , away , out , everywhere ,

频度副词：always , frequently , from time to time , often , hardly , seldom,..

方式副词：quickly , carefully , sadly , willingly , … 三． 副词的位置：

1） 时间副词和地点副词一般放在句末。 He did his work here yesterday.

2)频度副词放在实义动词之前，助动词、情态动词或be动词之后。 You must always wait in a queue.

3)副词修饰全句时如： luckily , personally , generally speaking 等放在句首。 注意：（1）ago , before

ago 表示“现在以前” 某一时刻，常用于____________. Before 表示“过去某一时间以前”一般用于______________. (2) fairly , quite , rather

按程度强弱排列，顺序为：rather , quite , fairly.

Fairly多用于褒义，rather 多用于贬义形容词、too及比较级前。 （3）quite , rather 可修饰名词，置于“不定冠词+名词”前。如：quite a good story , rather a strong wind. (4) also , too , either , as well

Also和too 用于________句，either用于__________句， also 放在实义动词前和be动词之后， too常置于_________, as well 与too 可互换。 He ______ plays the piano. He is a worker, _______.

Already “已经“用于肯定句； yet 已经用于否定句或疑问句 still 还，仍然一般用于肯定句或疑问句。
