A: Put on some sunscreen! Your skin is getting red!

B: I don’t have sunscreen. I forgot it at home. Maybe I should go home and get it. I need to go to the washroom, too.

A: There’s a washroom over there, just walk east. And, use my sunscreen. If you go back to your house, then come back here again, it’ll take too long.

B: I don’t mind, it’s a little boring lying flat on my back here doing nothing.

A: Why don’t you gaze at the horizon? It’s a beautiful view! B: It never changes. Let’s go to a movie instead!

A: Why do you want to go to the cinema? It’s a beautiful day and the sun is shining! You need to get some sun and fresh air. You’re too pale. B: I’m red like a chicken cooking! And, I’m bored silly. The time is really dragging. Let’s go to a bookstore. They have air conditioning! A: How about reading a book here? That’ll make the time pass faster. B: I want to go to bed. This sand is too hard. I prefer reading in bed. A: Just close your eyes. In an hour, maybe we can go swimming or play badminton3. I brought the rackets4. Then, we’ll have a picnic in the shade.




B: There are too many flies. It’s unsanitary. Why don’t we go to a restaurant?

A: I went to the supermarket and lugged home a watermelon. I cut up lots of fruit and made sandwiches. I even went to Charlie Fried Chicken and got some wings5. You are going to a restaurant today over my dead body!

B: Sigh. I’m just not a beach person. There’s nothing to do here and nothing to see. Wait a minute, what’s that? Wow! You were right, the view here is wonderful! Maybe the beach isn’t so bad.

A: Stop staring at the woman in a bikini6! I think it’s time to go home now!
