Smoking is harmful to our health

Do you have a habit of smoking? Anyone here.And thats our topic today--smoking is bad for our health. This topic is very common ,and most of us are familiar with it. So i am sure that every one can understand the contents and it will be a pleasurableexperience. Actually ,the most important reason we choose the topic is that it is easy to complete the task.You know, comparing with other study groups, our team like a group of small weak chickens.

Now ,let me introduce our team and the task allocation. There are three parts , first ,i will talk about the hazards of smoking,then chun kang bo talkes about why so many people smoke, and finally zhao teng will introduce some advice to quit smoking. Part one

Is smoking bad for your health------I think no one disagree with it, but not everyone can stay away from smoking.The data based on the Centers for Disease Control indicates that cigarette contains more than 4,000 chemicals, and not less than 250 kinds of toxic or carcinogenic substances.

According to the World Health Organization, 90% of the lung cancer patients are smokers in the developed countries ; and smokers accounted for 75% among those who died from bronchitis.

This picture indicates the damage of smoking vividly. Every time the man smokes, just like shooting himself. So it is not hard to imagine that how many times a heavy smoker has pulled the trigger.

What we call the crowd around of smokers are passive smokers. And Smoking can not only harm themselves, but also bring disaster to others. Especially , second-hand smoke is not lighter than active smoke.Scholars did a survey ,with 5200 pregnant women as the sample, they found that if a father does not smoke, children congenital malformations ratio was approximately 0.8%; and if smokes 1-10 branch daily, this ratio increased to 1.4%, and it will increase to 2.1% with smoking 10 or more a day.

Pregnant woman who are smoking can also affect the mortality rate of infant. If smoke less than a pack a day, the infant mortality rate is 20%, and the death rate increased to over 35% while smoking one pack or more.


Can smoking make a people stupid? According to a research made by Kings College London, which included 8800 old man over 50 years

old, indicated that smoking would accelerate the aging of the brain, while overweight and high blood pressure are related to memory loss.

From this picture, we can easily distinguish which lung is healthy. Obviously, this one is healthy lung, and this one is smokers lung. We may do not have the courage to imagine that one day our lung like this one, it is so terrible.

Now smoking does so much harm on their own or others, why do so many people still smoke a lot? I think there are two reasons: Short-term and Long-term reasons.

Short-term reasons cause people to start smoking cigarettes. I list four main reasons: Smoking can regulate people's emotions, Smoking for inspiration, Imitate others, A necessary for social intercourse.

Smoking can regulate people's emotions:

The road of life is long, it will inevitably encounterdifficulties.In Smokersopinion, smoking can help them ease their pressure when they are under heavy stress.

Smoking for inspiration:

Many artists are smokers.For example, Lu Xun.In the well-known work of Lu Xun, Mr. Fujino(《藤野先生》), Lu Xun described his habit of smoking while writing articles.Kurt Cobain, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of rock band Nirvana. Many of his works are created under cigarettes, alcohol and drugs.

Imitate others:

Many young people imitate their fathers or films.They think it is a mature performance, or a cool behavior."let the bullets fly" have a total of 80 shots about tobacco.

A necessary for social intercourse:

For example, In business or gatherings when someone handed you a cigarette, it will be considered impolite if you refuse.




Long-term reasons: Physiological dependence--Nicotine addiction and Psychological dependence.

Long-term smoking makes people generate physiological dependence and Psychological dependence. They make it very difficult to quit smoking. Part three

There are various methods to quit smoking, and it varies from person to person. First, please have confidence and determination. Self-confidence is the cornerstone of success. Lack of confidence shakes you when your smoking cravings make a visit. And it is futile if you do not have the determination to quit smoking behind the things you do.

The smoke brings you no good but health loss. That is the first fundmental thing you need to keep it in mind before taking other counter measures.

The second,help yourself develope good new habits that may be alternatively taken to avoid thinking back smoking, such as, body exercises, music if you didn't like before.

Third, make out plans to reduce the number of daily smoking. For example, if you smoke two packs a day, you can reduce to a pack after a month and a half in next month instead.

Again, Throw away all the cigarettes, lighters, and ashtrays, do not leave a hope. Your familys supervision will help a lot. How about the cravings coming back? You can take activities to distract, like a deep breath, drinking tea, eating snacks and so on.

Ease your mind at usual time and find other suitable way to depressurize. Most surveys tell that smokers first did smoke due to the need to depressurize themselves from problem of life and work.

For smoker who smoked for quite long time, better go and find medical aids from expertise doctors. They have experience and list of knowhow to cope with it.

After all, no matter initiatively or passively,keep yourselves far away from smoke, make your life green and valued. Any questions?
