You should start your easy with a brief account of the increasing use of the mobile phone in people’s life and then explain the consequences of of overusing it.



As is shown in the picture, people are crossing the street playing their cell phones while using walking sticks to identify directions. Actually recent years have witnessed an increasing use of the mobile phone in people’s daily life.



The consequences of this phenomenon can never be neglected. One of the most obvious one is that human relationship may become estranged, apathy and tense, just like people shown in the picture. Moreover, too much use of cell phones may exert negative influence on human being’s health. For instance, according to a research, the radiation from electronic devices accounts for one third of skin-related diseases and cancers.



However, the popularity of the using cell phones well explains its

unparalleled advantages, including easy and cheap access to the internet, taking pictures with attached cameras and contacting friends almost

everywhere in the world. Therefore, we should become fully aware of the two sides of using cell phones and spend reasonable time on them.

The above bar chart clearly shows us education pays in 2010. We see that one with higher education background earns more money weekly than those with lower ones. For instance, the college students with no degree get paid $712 per week whereas those with a Bachelor’s degree can earn $1038. Several reasons, in my opinion, can be identified to account for this phenomenon. To begin with, compared with those with comparatively lower education degree, people who have received higher education possess considerably wider knowledge, more remarkable learning and research ability, greater innovation and most of all, resourceful social network, all of which are essential to a high-income work. Also, the higher one’s education degree is, the bigger platform he will have to show his ability. For example, his college, university, or research institute will organize various job fairs for them to communicate face to face with employers.

This phenomenon tells us/reveals that education is a worthy investment. Therefore, substantial education investment should be strengthened while we, as college students, should study harder to build our country and strive for a better life for ourselves.

On Excessive Packaging

Many goods displayed on store shelves, as every one of us all notices, look very attractive. They are packaged in a fancy and excessive way, being wrapped in well-designed bags, packed in wooden boxes, or carefully arranged in hand-made baskets.



Special packaging is done to common commodities out of many particular reasons and purposes, of which the first and foremost is the fierce competition in the sales market, where there are usually numerous brands of a similar goods. Manufacturers or retailers need to make their brand outstanding and appealing to the customers. Besides, businessmen know that people tend to judge things (persons) by their looks. Therefore, they take advantage of this psychology and make their products impressive by packaging them in extremely large, fancy, good-looking wrappings. There is still another reason on the part of the consumers, who sometimes want to buy goods in finely-designed, fancy-looking packages as presents to friends and relatives.



The excessive package, to my mind, is most of the times more than necessary. It is a waste of resources and energy, and is also a waste of the consumers’ money, as the cost of package is finally relayed to them, rather than paid by the manufacturers themselves. Additionally, the fancy outward appearance resulting from over-packaging is very likely to mislead the buyers.
