1. Introduce some special ways to get to school around the world. Cambodia
In some parts of Cambodia, children take a big bowl to get to school every morning. They row the bowl just like rowing a boat in the river. Iceland
Kids in Iceland take a special motorbike to go to school. The weather there is very cold. The motorbike can move in the thick ice. Washington, US
Roby Burch, 17, a US student, got to school by horse. Burch had ridden his white horse 6.4km to and from school since last year. He thought it was a nice way to start a day.

1. 2a: Life is not always easy for students from some poor areas. Look at the picture in your book on page 17. At the same time, Listen to the passage and find out how the students get to school in the passage.

3. 2c: Read the passage again (4 minutes). Complete the sentences with the words from the passage.
For the students in the village, it is not easy / hard / difficult to get to school. They have to cross a very big river between their school and the village. They cannot go by boat because the river runs too quickly.
It is not easy to cross the river on a ropeway, but the boy is not afraid. The students and villagers want to have a bridge. Can their dream come true? Notes: it is + adj. + (for sb.) + to do sth. 4. Translation Practice:
